People Will Only 'Show Up' When They Are Ready!

People Will Only 'Show Up' When They Are Ready!

When it comes to love, careers, passions, and just, everyday life, we are often having to balance a mixture of them all, while learning what is more important to us, and to others. All of us are moving through life at our own speed, while also, having to deal with our own unique set of strengths, and weaknesses. With that said, people are only willing to ‘show up’ in relationships, opportunities, and commitments when they themselves are READY for them.

In this post, I talk about what it means to ‘show up’ in life, and how we can become more honest with ourselves about what we are ready for, and what we are not. ‘Showing up’ for our life is just another healthy form of self-care. The sooner we decide to ‘show up’, the sooner we can rid ourselves of anything that is holding us back!

Gaining Followers for Losing Weight: How My Online Presence Fueled My Eating Disorder!

Gaining Followers for Losing Weight: How My Online Presence Fueled My Eating Disorder!

I was about to be a Junior in college when I woke up one morning and decided I no longer liked feeling depressed about the girl I saw in the mirror. So, I changed. Almost as if something just flipped in my brain, I stopped making poor food choices, I increased the amount of exercise I was getting, and I created a “Fitness” page on Twitter to track my journey. It didn’t take long for the pounds to come off, and the followers to flood in. What my followers didn’t know was that the secret to my weight loss was no longer built on a desire to be healthy; it was based on the fact that my behavior was compulsive, and filled will a need for control.

In this post, I share the truth behind the girl who had all her followers fooled, and I open up about my personal struggle with a compulsive exercising eating disorder.

We are All Healing on Our Own Timeline!

We are All Healing on Our Own Timeline!

Have you ever felt pressure to be at a different place in your life? Or maybe, you are starting to feel like you should have progressed quicker in certain areas? When it comes to ‘Healing’, I have found that most of us are constantly comparing ourselves to those around us, and criticizing ourselves harshly on not being where we feel like we should.

In this post, I use my recovery timeline as an example to show that we are all healing at different speeds, and THAT IS OKAY! We may not be exactly where we want, but it is important that we recognize that everyone is healing from various things; some that take much longer than others.

Regardless of where you are in your ‘Healing’ timeline, I am here to remind you that you are exactly where you are supposed to be, and in due time, you will see why not all things work out the way we want them too.

The Company You Keep... Is It Hurting You? Or Is It Helping You?

The Company You Keep... Is It Hurting You? Or Is It Helping You?

In this post, I talk about the importance of who we choose to surround ourselves with, and I beg the question: Are there people in your life that are holding you back?

To become the best versions of ourself, the company that we keep has a lot to do with that. Their influence on our behaviors, and the way they lead their lives, will impact us either positively, or negatively. The good thing about this, is that we always have a say in who we decide to be inspired by. If there are toxic people in your life, now is the best time to start separating yourself from anything negative. So, I must ask you: Is the company that you keep, hurting you, or helping you?

Stop Living In Any Moment That is Not Right Now

Stop Living In Any Moment That is Not Right Now

Why do we do that? Why do we spend so much time thinking about the past, and stressing about the future?  Why can't we just enjoy the moment we are in right now, and recognize that these are the moments that shape us?

We can't change what has happened, and we can't predict what the future holds, but we can choose to focus on what we are doing right now. What we spend our time on, and what we choose to allow in our lives, is what we should concentrate on. Your past has shaped you, your future is up to you, and right now is how you will get there.

So how do we do it?
